Recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is produced in E. coli in a tag-free format, ensuring high purity and biological activity. CNTF is a member of the IL-6 family of cytokines and is best known for its neuroprotective and neurotrophic properties.
CNTF supports the survival and differentiation of various neuronal cell types and plays an essential role in nerve regeneration and neurodevelopment. Beyond the nervous system, it also influences muscle metabolism and hematopoiesis. Recombinant human CNTF is widely used in neuroscience research, neurodegenerative disease models, and studies on cell survival and regeneration.
