CytoGrow™ Recombinant VEGF 121 (Human), CHO, Tag Free
Recombinant human vascular endothelial growth factor 121 (VEGF121) is produced in CHO cells in a tag-free format, ensuring correct folding and human-like post-translational modifications. VEGF121 is a naturally occurring isoform of VEGF-A generated by alternative splicing, functioning as a potent pro-angiogenic factor that regulates vascular development and endothelial cell biology.
In humans, VEGF121 binds to VEGF receptors VEGFR-1 (Flt-1) and VEGFR-2 (KDR/Flk-1), stimulating endothelial cell proliferation, migration, survival, and new blood vessel formation. Unlike longer VEGF isoforms, VEGF121 lacks heparin-binding domains, making it freely diffusible and highly bioavailable in the extracellular space. Recombinant VEGF121 is widely used in angiogenesis research, vascular biology studies, tissue engineering, and cancer models.
