CytoGrow™ Recombinant bFGF/FGF-2 (Chicken), E. coli, Tag Free
Recombinant chicken basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), also known as FGF-2, is produced in E. coli in a tag-free format, ensuring high purity and consistent biological activity. bFGF/FGF-2 is a widely studied member of the fibroblast growth factor family and plays a critical role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival across a variety of cell types.
In avian and other species, bFGF binds to fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) in the presence of heparan sulfate proteoglycans, activating downstream signaling pathways such as MAPK/ERK and PI3K/AKT. These pathways promote cell proliferation, migration, angiogenesis, and tissue repair. bFGF is also essential for maintaining the self-renewal and pluripotency of stem cells. Recombinant chicken bFGF is commonly used in cell culture systems, stem cell research, developmental biology, and tissue engineering applications.
