CytoGrow™ Recombinant bFGF/FGF-2 (Tuna), E. coli, Tag Free

Recombinant tuna basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), also known as FGF-2, is produced in E. coli in a tag-free format, ensuring high purity and consistent biological activity. bFGF/FGF-2 is a conserved member of the fibroblast growth factor family, functioning as a key regulator of cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival across a wide range of species.

In fish and other vertebrates, bFGF binds to fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) in the presence of heparan sulfate proteoglycans, activating downstream signaling pathways such as MAPK/ERK and PI3K/AKT. These pathways promote cell growth, migration, angiogenesis, and tissue repair. bFGF also plays an important role in developmental processes and tissue regeneration. Recombinant tuna bFGF is widely used in cell culture, aquaculture research, developmental biology, and regeneration studies.
