MONMOUTH JUNCTION, N.J., July7, 2026 — TheWell Bioscience, a leader in xeno-free 3D cell culture technologies, today announced the commercial launch of RocketCell™ Cell Viability Enhancer, a proprietary small-molecule formulation designed to maximize cell survival, metabolic recovery, and growth following passaging, thawing, and cryopreservation.

Developed for sensitive cell types, including induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), neural stem cells (NSCs), organoids, and other iPSC-derived cultures, RocketCell™ Cell Viability Enhancer helps researchers overcome one of the most persistent challenges in advanced cell culture—cell stress and loss during routine handling.

Unlike conventional ROCK inhibitors that primarily reduce dissociation-induced apoptosis, RocketCell™ Cell Viability Enhancer combines a potent ROCK inhibitor with proprietary secondary metabolic stabilizers that actively support cellular recovery, promote rapid cell-cycle re-entry, and accelerate colony formation following stressful procedures.

Demonstrated Performance Beyond Traditional ROCK Inhibitors

Internal validation studies demonstrate that RocketCell™ Cell Viability Enhancer delivers:

  • Superior post-passaging growth kinetics compared to commonly used ROCK inhibitors, including Y-27632 and Thiazovivin (TZV)
  • Enhanced metabolic recovery following dissociation-induced stress
  • Improved plating efficiency and colony formation
  • Higher organoid recovery and expansion after harvesting
  • Improved survival during cryopreservation and thawing

Studies using both mouse intestinal organoids and colon organoids showed significantly greater recovery and growth when RocketCell™ Cell Viability Enhancer was incorporated into harvesting and early culture workflows. The strongest performance was observed when the enhancer was used throughout the harvesting process and maintained during the first 24–48 hours of recovery, providing additional protection against harvesting-induced cellular stress.
